Disclaimer

What you should know before relying on GLM Chat: AI output, prices and specs that change, our test results, external links and ads.

This disclaimer sets out the limits of what GLM Chat offers: AI-generated answers in the free chat, and guides about GLM models, their prices, specs and tools. Everything here is provided in good faith and built on official sources, but you should understand where it can fall short before you rely on it.

GLM Chat disclaimer: AI output can be wrong, and prices and specs can change

GLM Chat and Z.ai

Independent site, not affiliated with Z.ai / Zhipu AI. GLM is their trademark.

The models that answer in our chat are Z.ai’s models, reached through Z.ai’s official API. The guides, test results and recommendations on this site are written by the GLM Chat Team and reflect our own reading of the official sources. For your Z.ai account, API keys, billing or Coding Plan subscription, go to Z.ai directly; our list of official Z.ai links shows the genuine addresses.

AI output can be wrong

Replies in the chat are generated by AI models, not written by people. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or biased, and a wrong answer can read just as confidently as a right one. Generated code can contain bugs or security flaws. Generated images can contain errors, including in rendered text.

The chat runs with fast settings: up to 2,048 output tokens and the lightest reasoning level each model allows. Answers may therefore be shorter or less thorough than what the same model produces through the API at a higher effort level. Always check important answers against a reliable source and test code before you use it.

Prices, specs and benchmarks change

Our figures for prices, context windows, output limits, model IDs, licenses and release dates come from official sources: Z.ai’s documentation at docs.z.ai, the Z.ai blog, the zai-org repositories on GitHub and Hugging Face, and competitors’ own pricing pages. Z.ai changes these often. It has released a new flagship roughly every two months in 2026 and adjusts prices and model routing along the way.

We update our pages when the official sources change, but there can be a gap. Before you commit money or build a product on a figure from this site, confirm it on the official page. Our GLM pricing page and release timeline link to the relevant sources.

Benchmark numbers on our model pages are the figures Z.ai publishes about its own models, and we label them that way. Third-party prices, such as OpenRouter’s, are listed prices that change frequently. None of these numbers guarantee how a model will perform on your own tasks.

Models and limits can change

The models offered in our chat, the daily limits and the settings we use may change at any time. Z.ai can also retire a model or change how it is served: on the Coding Plan, for example, requests for GLM-5.2 and GLM-5.1 are now answered by GLM-5.3. If a page describes a model you cannot find in the chat, the GLM models comparison shows its current status and the closest alternative.

Our own test results

Our model pages show results from our own five-task test, run three times per task for each model with the median score published with the same settings as the public chat and scored by an editor against a published rubric. Three runs on five tasks are a useful snapshot, not a full evaluation: other prompts or other settings can give different results. The method is described in full in our editorial policy.

Not professional advice

Nothing on GLM Chat, in the guides or in the chat, is legal, financial, medical, tax or other professional advice. Our page on GLM licenses and commercial use explains license terms in plain words, but it is not legal advice; read the license itself and consult a qualified professional before making decisions that depend on it.

We link to external sites, mainly official documentation and model pages, because they are the primary sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the linked site.

Advertising

GLM Chat is free and funded by ads served through Google AdSense. The ad network chooses which ads appear. An ad on this site is not a recommendation of the product or company behind it, and advertisers have no influence over our content.
